SHE/HER/HERS
Luana grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and attended the Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro for Architecture and Urban Planning. After moving to the US to pursue a carrier in production and set design, and long hours on sets of music videos and short films, she fell in love with the creativity of the interiors scale. She then sought to further explore design and functionality and moved to New York to join WeWork’s in-house Design Studio.
After designing coworking spaces for 4 years, from Berlin to Mexico City, she developed a passion for the world of hospitality. As Senior Designer for all US Soho Works locations, she led a team of amazing designers, rethinking coworking spaces and adapting them to the Soho House brand.
After visiting over 45 countries, her source of inspiration continues to stem from a desire to understand how people from diverse cultures, times and places create and experience design in the world they live. For Luana, design is important because it touches people’s souls. Design both crafts and guides people's experience, mood, and everyday life. Luana believes that collaboration is the key to creating a world that represents and celebrates everyone’s ideas and cultures, and to truly achieve equality.
